MCABSE Membership Drive & Recognition Committee

Dear MCABSE Members, we need all hands on deck to reach our goal of doubling our membership. Our committee’s theme is still “Reclamation and Multiplication”. The goal is to reclaim all previous members, and ask each member to get at least one additional MCPS employee to join. It is not a large task, but the goal of doubling our numbers can only be accomplished with your support. Please send the attached membership application to your friends and colleagues, and ask them to join us. This committee also coordinates and plan the implementation our award to be presented to MCABSE members who demonstrate outstanding service to MCABSE.

MCABSE Networking & Social Events Committee

The MCABSE Networking committee is in need of members to help coordinate networking and social events for our members to meet and greet, get to know one another, and develop professional networks with one another for the year.

MCABSE Scholarship Event Committee

The MCABSE Scholarship Committee is in need of members to help coordinate and plan our annual scholarship program in April.

MCABSE Fundraising & Signature Event Committee:

The Signature Event Committee will be responsible for organizing and implementing our major fundraiser for the year. The MCABSE Fundraising Committee needs members to brainstorm, coordinate, and execute fundraising projects outside of our signature event to help us raise additional revenue.  If you have a gift for raising money or getting people to donate time, money, and talents for various things, we need your help.

MCABSE Social Justice & Political Action Committee:

The  MCABSE Political Action Committee needs members to brainstorm, coordinate, and hold information forums that keep us informed about important political activity that have an impact on our students. If you have a gift for getting the word out about what’s going on behind the scenes politically that our students and families should be knowledgeable of then we need you!

 MCABSE Mentors Committee:

This committee will develop a coalition of Black mentors in the county to support and encourage success in the MCPS staff experience.

MCABSE HBCU College Fair Committee :

The MCABSE HBCU Committee supports the MCPS College Fair annually by providing volunteers to help provide a college recruitment experience for students of color and MCPS.  We provide the “KICK OFF” event leading up to the college fair!  We need volunteers to serve on the “Kick OFF” Panel to tell about your HBCU Experience!
